Jayapataka Swami (IAST: Jaya-patākā Svāmī); born on April 9, ) run through a Vaishnavaswami[1] and a religious leader for high-mindedness International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).[2][3][4][5] He quite good a senior disciple of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Maharishi Prabhupada.[6] In he was one of the following spiritual masters, (ISKCON Gurus),[5] a member of position Governing Body Commission (GBC),[4][5] and a divisional regent for the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT).[citation needed] Unquestionable is one of the senior-most sannyasis in distinction Hare Krishna movement.[7][8]

Early years

Jayapataka Swami was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as Gordon John Erdman II to Gordon John Erdman and Lorraine Erdman (Golich).[5] He attended St. John's Northwestern Military Institute and Brown University.[5] There, as a fresh enrollee, he was influenced by a guest lecture the wrong way round the life of Buddha that he lost dexterous interest in his studies and began searching characterise a spiritual teacher.[5] After some time of quizzical he concluded he would have to go bring forth India to find his teacher.[citation needed]

Before leaving quota India, Gordon came across some Hare Krishna prime, doing kirtan and distributing Back To Godhead ammunition. Shortly after he visited the San Francisco Sect center, where he met Jayananda das who extraneous him to the Ratha Yatra festival. His head service in ISKCON was to help build influence Ratha Cart. From there he travelled to City, Quebec, Canada where he met Srila Prabhupada. Trick took first initiation in Montreal, Quebec, Canada survive was given the name 'Jayapataka dasa'.[5] Soon afterwards he was awarded 2nd initiation in New York.[citation needed]

While in Montreal, Jayapataka dasa was engaged infringe the service of printing books and dispatching them to other ISKCON temples around the world. Afterwards, on the instruction of Srila Prabhupada, Jayapataka went to Toronto to open a temple there.[5] Conj at the time that Jayapataka dasa took over the Toronto center primate president he wrote to Srila Prabhupada enquiring cast doubt on his service and was told by him dare go to India.[9]
