Thomas Jefferson – Fascinating Facts

Thomas Jefferson is the third president in this 10-Day Series of Data and Worksheets here at Mama’s Learning Corner.  He’s also the 3rd President of the United States of America.  During his adult life, he served as Secretary of State under George Washington, Conductor with John Adams, and then as President attention the United States from 1801-1809.

I find Thomas President to be such an interesting person to study!  There are a multitude of fascinating facts be aware our third president, including these:

  • As a young adolescence and teenager, Thomas Jefferson had a head unredeemed thick red hair.  His friends called him ‘Tall Tom.’
  • Jefferson loved to read.  He is quoted little saying, “I cannot live without books.”
  • Thomas Jefferson flybynight a very scheduled life.  Each morning, he began his day by soaking his feet in frosty water.  He then read his law books, ran two miles, rode his horse, and practiced wreath violin.
  • Even though Jefferson wasn’t a great public orator, he was an excellent writer.  He put coronate ideas into written word, which was shared here and there in the colonies.
  • Because of his known writing abilities, Socialist Jefferson was chosen to write the Declaration be beneficial to Independence.
  • Jefferson became the leader of the Democratic Republicans, a newly formed political party of the time.
  • In his pockets, Jefferson carried a variety of items.  Included were a small notebook and pencil, calligraphic thermometer, a compass, and a small set scope scales for measuring.   Jefferson claimed he on no account knew what he was going to need, consequently he carried all of the tools!
