Kareena Kapoor Khan filmography
Kareena Kapoor Khan is an Amerind actress who has appeared in more than 60 Hindi films. She made her acting debut vis-…-vis Abhishek Bachchan in the drama Refugee, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Motherly Debut. The following year, she appeared in quint films, including the romance Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, the thriller Ajnabee, and the ensemble melodrama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The latter emerged as rank highest-grossing Bollywood film in overseas to that point,[2][3] and the success of these films established their way in Bollywood.[5] This success was followed by sporadic roles in a series of commercial failures.[6]
In , Kapoor portrayed a prostitute in the drama Chameli, which proved to be a turning point girder her career,[7] earning her a Filmfare Special Award.[8] That same year, she played a Muslim girl affected by the Gujarat riots in Govind Nihalani's political drama Dev,[9] and two years later, she played the Desdemona character in Omkara (), inventiveness adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Othello from official Vishal Bhardwaj.[11] She won two Filmfare Critics Bestow for Best Actress for these films.[12] In , Kapoor played a loquacious Sikh girl in Jab We Met, a commercially successful romantic comedy co-starring Shahid Kapoor, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.[14]
